Ben Sowter, Director of Research at QS, commented: “We believe it is essential to acknowledge those young, ambitious universities that have – in their short lifespan – achieved speedy recognition among academics and employers, have begun to conduct world-changing research, and have integrated themselves into a highly international higher education landscape.”

To have achieved this accolade for the third consecutive year clearly demonstrates our commitment to providing world-leading teaching, research and student support.

Just last month, Oxford Brookes’ world-leading research was recognised with the University attaining the UK’s number one status in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2019. The THE global ranking also placed Oxford Brookes as the UK’s second highest performing university for teaching.

Oxford Brookes climbed eight places in the latest Guardian University Guide in June and was named amongst the UK’s top universities (top 25%) in ten subject areas. This was the third consecutive year Oxford Brookes has improved in the rankings. In May, Oxford Brookes rose by 15 places in the Complete University Guide 2020 with the University highlighted as being amongst the country’s “notable climbers”.
